Professional Background
Dr Alexandra Shannon is a specialist GP who strives to create a warm, inclusive and judgement-free environment for her patients, whilst remaining up to date with health advances and evidence based medicine.
Dr Shannon graduated from Melbourne University in 2007 with. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and a Bachelor of Medical Science (public health). She then went on to become a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners. She has a post graduate diploma in Children’s Health, and has pursued extra training in mental health, women’s and men’s health.
Professional Interests
Dr Shannon is passionate about healthy ageing, particularly in the perimenopausal and menopausal transition. She has a special interest in plant based medicine and is an Authorised Prescriber of Medicinal Cannabis.
Dr Shannon loves looking after families and individuals at different stages of their lives, and particularly enjoys the opportunity to get to know her patients over time.
