Professional Background/Experience:
Marissa Skovron is a Clinical Psychologist who completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology at The University of Melbourne in 2012. She has experience in working with a wide range of psychological presentations in both private and public mental health sectors, including The Royal Children's Hospital Psychology Service, The Royal Melbourne Hospital Eating Disorders Unit, Headspace and The Police Association of Victoria. In her private clinical practice, she delivers evidence-based treatments to adult clients across the lifespan for mental health conditions that range from mild to severe and complex.

Professional Interests:
Marissa specialises in trauma- and stressor-related disorders such as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Her other special interests include perinatal and postnatal depression and anxiety and performance anxiety in the performing arts context and beyond. Marissa is also experienced in treating depression and mood disorders, anxiety and panic disorders, personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, adjustment disorders and relationship and interpersonal issues. She offers a client-centered and compassionate therapeutic approach and is passionate about using best-practice, evidence-based methods towards empowering her clients with necessary skills to overcome difficulties and to improve quality of life and general well-being. Marissa’s approach combines attentive, empathetic listening with evidence-based research to deeply understand each client’s psychological concerns and tailor effective treatment strategies. She draws upon her training in various therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E), to tailor interventions to each person's needs
